Georgia ASA Weekend Warrior

After making their way through the winner's bracket, Georgia Merchants lost their first and only game of the day in the rain-soaked championship round, where the Backyard Boyz put up a convincing 23 runs.

In a hard fought (and drama filled...) "If" game, the Backyard Boyz made it another contest, coming from behind to tie it up at 12 - 12 in the top of the 7th.  In the end, the Georgia Merchants were able to get one more run across, winning the game 13 - 12.   

The Yard Dawgs also had a respectable tournament, playing through the consolation bracket to beat Pro Lending in the third place game.

Congratulations to the Georgia Merchants, Weekend Warrior Champions, and thank you to all of the teams that came out and played this weekend.

Georgia ASA Bash for Cash

This Saturday had to be one of the hottest this year.  But that didn't stop these guys from coming out and playing through the heat to crown the first Georgia ASA tournament champion.

After going 2-0 in seed play, Ballaz on a Budget lost in the first round of the bracket to the Diamond Kings.  The Diamond Kings ended up with the bad draw of the weekend, playing five in a row before losing to Ballaz in the losers bracket final.  Calloway Title and the Ballaz decided to play one game for all the marbles, which Ballaz won.

Congratulations to Ballaz on a Budget, champions of the inaugural Georgia ASA slow pitch tournament, and thanks to all of the teams that came out to play ASA.
